Benjamin Bischoff on test automation and software craftsmanship

I am a test automation engineer at trivago N.V. (ex Senior Automation Engineer at Ubisoft Düsseldorf) writing and talking about software development and testing.

Check out my book "Writing API Tests with Karate"!

There are now hundreds of conferences around the world that are always on the lookout for new presentations. In this article, I summarise what I have learned as a regular speaker.

My talk "Identifying Code Smells" for yesterday's ZappleTech Test Automation Meetup is now available to watch on YouTube

In about seven years of being active in software testing, I never got to experience any one of the Agile Testing Days conferences as a visitor or speaker. So I was very thrilled when two of my submitted papers were accepted for AgileTD in Cologne, Germany.

I revisited Chicago after 13 years, this time to attend my first overseas conference as a speaker - I presented my talk "Identifying Code Smells". This is my review of the conference.

As the year 2022 is coming to an end, I wanted to quickly look back at my year career-wise. This seems to be the trend in the software testing space at the moment on LinkedIn and other social media so now I just do that as well.

For the second time ever, I will speak overseas. In March 2023, I will be at the SeleniumConf in Chicago, USA to talk about code smells!
